Tired of Matching Apps?
Sick of Tinder, Bumble and Hinge
Try Space
A New Dating App
Designed Like A Chatroom
Why Space?
If you’ve used apps like Tinder or Bumble, you already know the frustrations—limited swipes, endless paywalls, and algorithms designed to keep you swiping instead of actually meeting people. These apps are built for profit, not connection. That’s where Space has stepped in.
HOW IT WORKS
It's That Simple
At Space, there is no algorithm. If someone is interested in you, they will message you back. If not, you can click 'ignore' and their profile will disappear. We allow you to see the nearest single 500 men or women completely free and allow you to direct message them in a chatroom style forum.
Advanced Features
Our team has gone back to the drawing board and implemented many advanced features to give you the best experience possible- Selfie Verification, 24/7 Live Chat Support, Advanced A.I, Nudity Image Detection, Profanity Filters and many more.

A Message From Our
Founders
We wanted an app where we could see the nearest single people nearby that are online and ready to chat. We are cutting out the middleman of matching and letting people message whoever they want. We believe a software like this has the ability to do what Tik Tok did to Instagram but in the dating space.

FAQ
Please read carefully below
What is the current tech Stack?
The current stack for iOS is:
- Swift
- Alamofire Framework
- Client Socket for chat
- Backend: Node.js and PHP, hosted on DigitalOcean
- Java
- Retrofit
- Client Socket for chat
- Backend: Node.js and PHP, hosted on DigitalOcean
Is That Tech Stack Scalable?
Yes, it is, but when we get a decent number of users, we will need to implement a couple of things:
- Scalable Real-Time Chat (Socket.IO + Load Balancing)
- Cluster the backend using Node.js clustering or process managers like PM2 to run multiple instances of the app on a single server.
- Load Balancing
- Use tools like Nginx or HAProxy to distribute WebSocket connections across multiple servers.
- Use Redis Cloud for Message Queues
- This reduces strain on the database by handling real-time message distribution. It also enables message delivery to multiple recipients without frequent database writes.
- Optimize the Database
- Database Sharding: Split the database into smaller parts or regions.
- Read Replicas: Handle read-heavy operations like fetching chat histories.
- Indexing: Ensure proper indexing of tables for faster chat queries.
- Partitioning: Break large tables (e.g., messages) into smaller partitions for better performance.
- Cloud Hosting
- Use Kubernetes or Docker Swarm to manage and scale backend servers.
- Implement auto-scaling to spin up or down servers depending on high-traffic periods.
- Store large or static data, like images and chat media, in object storage solutions such as DigitalOcean Spaces.
- CDN for Static Assets
- Use a content delivery network to serve static files (images, videos) faster and reduce server load.
- Monitoring and Analytics
- Use tools like Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus to track server performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Profile the Node.js and PHP backend to optimize slow queries or processes.
- Potentially Switch from MySQL to NoSQL
- Consider using MongoDB, as it handles high write throughput and unstructured data better.

Difference Between This App And Other Dating Apps
Most modern dating apps are swiping apps like Tinder or Bumble. You swipe, you receive a match and then you message. Our application works like a instagram newsfeed that shows you the nearest single people around and let you chat with anyone you want. If you are a female you will see a newsfeed of male profiles. If you are a male you will see a newsfeed of female profiles. If you are not interested in the message, you can just click ignore and they disappear off the grid and that person you ignored is unable to send you anymore messages. We believe it is the future of dating apps.
how Do You Monitor an app like this
We’ve built a dating app that actually does the work to keep scammers and fake profiles out. Right now, we have live chat support built into the app, so when someone reports a user, they just copy and paste that profile’s ID into the chat. Our team looks them up, and if they’re a scammer or fake, they’re gone. If a user racks up too many reports and somehow slips through, they get hit with a 30-day rotating ban.
We’ve also locked down photo moderation. Users have to upload a selfie, so others can compare it to their profile photos. No filters, no edits—just a raw image that makes it way harder to fake an identity. On top of that, we’re bringing in Besedo, a moderation tool that scans chats for scams and bad behavior, automatically flagging harmful messages and taking action.
Most dating apps launch fast, raise capital, and fail because they don’t put in the work upfront.
The idea of “launch quick and iterate” is a death sentence in this space. If you don’t have a plan to handle fake profiles, Nigerian scammers, hate content, and overall user safety from day one, your app is dead on arrival. A major dating app founder even talked about this in a forum HERE—it’s not just about spotting scammers, it’s about making sure they can’t come back. That means banning phone numbers, blocking VOIP numbers, disabling VPN access, forcing selfie verification, and a whole list of other measures to keep the platform clean.
The bar is high, and we’ve watched countless apps try to take on the giants, miss these fundamentals, and crash. We took the opposite route—spent years (3) perfecting every detail, built this thing out to the max, and now it’s ready to take over.
We take pride in what we’ve built because we know there’s a massive demand for an app like this. Wiz, a direct-messaging social app, is exploding right now. Gen Z isn’t wasting time with outdated swiping—they want fast, direct conversations. On top of that, people are sick of Match Group running the dating world. They’re looking for something fresh, something real. We’re here to give it to them. Another matching application would never even have a shot but a chatroom like this does. We made this app because we expect it to be the largest if not top 5.

What are we going to do with the money if we get funded
The whole product is completely finished—app, user panel, monetization, moderation, etc.—everything. All we’re doing now is filling up the grid of users on both the male and female sides. The app shows the nearest 500 men and 500 women within a 50-mile radius to trigger the subscription banner.
We need the software to look full, so we have to make sure there are 1,000 users in each of the 200 major cities in the U.S. We’re going to be guerrilla marketing in these subreddits and through article distribution channels. The last thing we’re going to do is blow a bunch of money on ads.
One of the reasons we decided to build this software is because people have been talking about it for the last ten years so we went and built it. Click Here

What about HARASSMENT of users
One of the most incredible and underrated uses of AI is its ability to eliminate hateful and hurtful messaging on dating apps—and any app. Let’s be real: if you use Tinder or Bumble, you’ve experienced this. Men sending sexually inappropriate messages, women saying rude things to men—it happens on both sides.
AI can now analyze messages before they are sent and stop harmful messages from ever reaching someone. Imagine someone is about to send a message that is potentially inappropriate. They hit send, and a pop-up reads: “This message has been deemed inappropriate. Send this message and get banned,” with a button to go back.
Everyone on this platform will be able to shoot their shot in a safe, fun, and respectful way, and if the other person is interested, they’ll get a message back. If not, they can simply move on to the next one.

Is This Application Anti LGBTQ+
No, absolutely not. This app was actually inspired by many of our LGBTQ+ friends we grew up with. Many of them use grid-based dating apps. We just thought it was one of the biggest holes in the market of all time.
Why our founders made this software
This app isn’t some completely novel, crazy idea. We wanted an app where you could make a profile really quickly and see the nearest local singles around you in an online chatroom, with verified profiles, chat moderation, and safety features against nude images and rude messages. Matching apps are slow and boring—they want you to keep playing the swiping game. We turned all the cards face up and let you message whoever you want.
Last but not least, we built this application because it’s going to get a lot of attention and press for free. I mean, you’ve got to ask yourself—if someone told you that someone put out a straight version of Grindr, would you download it? I mean, the answer is obviously yes. It’s going to spread through word of mouth like no other.
Other factors—this application was never meant to be political, but due to the timing, it could be seen that way. The (left) could say we’re being exclusionary (which we’re not; it’s just a viral niche). And the (right) could say, “Well, they have their (Black) (Gay) (Lesbian) (Latino) (Chinese) dating apps, so why can’t we have a straight one?” We’re pretty sure it could make the news.
Either way, straight people, believe it or not, are the largest majority, and we built a better mousetrap—one that could be bigger than Tinder and Bumble due to its immediacy. And we love it. We built this app for the people—everyone gets a chance to shoot their shot, just like in real life, and there isn’t some algorithm deciding who they should or shouldn’t see.
