Signs of a Scammer or Fake Profile:How to Protect Yourself:
- Too Good to Be True: Profiles that seem perfect or too good to be true often are. Be cautious of profiles with professional photos and overly flattering descriptions.
- Inconsistent Information: Look out for discrepancies in their stories or profiles, such as conflicting information or sudden changes in personal details.
- Rush to Move Off the Platform: Scammers often try to move the conversation off the app quickly, asking for your phone number, email, or social media handles.
- Requests for Money: Be wary of anyone asking for money, no matter the reason. Common excuses include emergencies, travel expenses, or investments.
- Avoiding Personal Meetings: If they consistently avoid meeting in person or video calls, they might not be who they say they are.
How to Report a Scammer or Fake Profile:
- Verify Profiles: Use our verification tools to check if the profile is authentic.
- Keep Conversations on the App: Avoid sharing personal contact information too soon.
- Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, it probably is. Trust your gut and take action if you feel uncomfortable.
- Visit the Profile: Go to the profile of the user you want to report.
- Click "Report": Select the "Report" button, usually found in the profile options menu.
- Select Reason: Choose "Fake Profile or Scammer" from the list of reporting reasons.
- Provide Details: Include any relevant information or screenshots that can help our team investigate.
